Mac SE - fast file selection  - pressing the ~ (Tilde) key will take you to the bottom of the FILE SELECTION (DIALOG) LIST BOX (like the one that is displayed when you choose Open from within an application), and the Escape key (esc) will return you to the document you had opened just before you chose to open another document.  If you have launched the application itself and not a document, pressing the ~ (Tilde) key will take you to the bottom of the FILE SELECTION (DIALOG) LIST BOX and the Escape (esc) key will take you to the top of the list.
